Description
Introduced in 2015, the Leica M Monochrom (Type 246) is the second generation of the now legendary pure b/w camera in the Leica M system.
The M Monochrom (Type 246) is based on the Leica M-P (Type 240) and features an b/w sensor specially developed for this camera with a resolution of 24 MP and no low-pass filter.
Compared to the previous model, not only has the maximum sensitivity been increased to ISO 25,600, but the dynamic range has also been increased by two steps.
The most important difference to the Monochrom of the first generation (2012-2015) is that the M Monochrom has a CMOS sensor.
The camera was produced by Leica auasschließlich in matt black chrome without the Leica logo and was in the range from 2015 to 2020.
All in all, it can be said that the Leica M Monochrom is an excellent camera, even from today’s point of view, whose b/w images deliver a timelessly aesthetic image look.
