Description

Produced from 1954 to 1967, the Leica M3 enjoys a legendary reputation among photographers and collectors. With this camera icons of modern photography were taken and probably no second camera system influenced the modern photography and visual language as strong as the Leica M series.

During the production cycle, the model was subject to various detail changes and in general one differentiates between three main variants.
It is divided into the first version (1954-1955) still without frame selector lever, second version (1955-1956) with frame selector lever and third version (from 1956) with frame selector lever and new shutter time sequence.
All three variants were also partly produced in Canada and represent the most rare models of the Leica M3 in addition to the black painted versions and the models for the Bundeswehr (German army).

Offered is a silver chrome Leica M3 built in 1959. The condition is very good with smallest cosmetic signs of use on the top cap.
