Built between 1984 and 1998, the Leica M6 is regarded by Leica photographers and collectors as a classic and milestone in the development of the Leica M series.
The version with the viewfinder magnification 0.85x is based on the limited edition model Leica M6J from 1994 and was available in late 1997 as an alternative to th regular M6 with 0.72x viewfinder magnification.
In the following year Leica presented the M6 TTL as sucessing model to the Leica M6. The main difference was the integrated flash metering of the M6 TTL.
When Leica announced in 2002 that the M6/M6 TTL had to be phased out after 18 years and the production of the camera was stopped, an era at the Leica factory came to an end. One took the end of production of the classic but also the occasion to make the last 999 pieces as a special model.
Offered is a near mint condition M6 0.85x in black chrome finish. The camera comes from the year 1997 and is one of the first models with 0.85x viewfinder magnification.
And in January 2022, the camera was overhauled a professional maintenance service.
