Description

The Leica M6J was issued in 1994 as a limited edition model to commemorate 40 years of Leica M-series.
The camera body shows design elements of the classic Leica M3 from 1954 combined with the functionality of the Leica M6 from 1984. The viewfinder magnification was 0.85x which allows the use of a 35mm viewfinder frame.
The lens delivered in this limited edition is also a classic one in the Leica product range and for many users and collectors the embodiment of “the Leica lens”. The Elmar-M 2,8/50mm with collapsible focus mount.
The version for the M6J limited edition was a recomputation of the original optical design and using modern glass and coating technology has further improved its image quality.

Leica produced a total amount of just 1.640 sets of the Leica M6J with matching Elmar-M 2,8/50mm lens. This volume was splitted into fourty cameras and lenses for every decade since the introduction of the Leica M3 in 1954.

The Leica M6J offered is in very good to mint condition and comes including the Elmar-M 2,8/50mm lens in jubilee version.
Camera and lens have been technically inspected and serviced before sale and are therefore technically in mint condition!
Unfortunately, the original box and all papers are missing.
