The so-called Olympia set consisted of a Leica R-E with Vario-Elmar-R 3,5-4,5 / 28-70mm lens and a matching everready case. The camera had a badge on the front of the camera body with the imprint "Olympic Games '92" and a special number engraved in the base plate.
The lens had on the front ring a special number and the engraving "Olympic Games '92" and the everready case was also marked with the logo and lettering "Olympic Games '92".
The Olympia set was produced with a quantity of 2,500 units.
Since Leica did not sell all Olympia sets, these were later split up and partially offered R-E cameras and Vario lenses individually.
One sometimes finds Leica R-E "Olympia 1992" camera bodies without the usual badge on the front.
The offered R-E "Olympia 1992" and Vario-Elmar-R 3,5-4,5/28-70mm are in very good to mint condition.
Camera and lens have different limited edition numbers!
