Description
The Leica rim-set Compur, manufactured from 1928 to 1930, is the second version of the Leica cameras with a Compur shutter. The camera is based on the Leica I (Model A) and is equipped with a Compur shutter from Deckel. The shutter speed range is from 1/300 to 1 second. Operation differs from "normal" Leica cameras in that film transport and the cocking of the shutter are two separate processes. The cameras delivered after 1930 were presumably pre-produced and were shipped afterwards.
Technically and cosmetically, the Leica rim-set Compur offered is in good condition, although it should be mentioned that the shutter speeds are not entirely reliable. The camera body shows signs of use which is normal regarding its age and far from looking worn out.
All in all, there is the opportunity to acquire an exceptionally rare piece that is in good condition despite its age.
