Description
The Summicron 2.0/5cm was presented in 1953 by Leitz / Leica in collabsible screw mount version. In the following year the production of the lens with M bayonet began.
The optical performance was outstanding at the time and justified Leica’s reputation for producing excellent lenses for the M series. From today’s point of view, the Summicron 2.0/5cm of the first version can easily be seen as a classic of modern lens design and has a status like the Elmar 3.5/5cm lens from the beginnings of Leica photography. The modern design of the Summicron-M 2.0/50mm is regarded as the reference lens for 35mm photography and the development of the last 60 years has found its culmination in the APO-Summicron-M 2.0/50mm ASPH lens.
Offered is a classic Summicron 2.0/5cm in collabsible screw thread mount. The lens comes from the year 1952 and will be deliverd including the original plastic container.
The technical and cosmetic condition is good to very good. Since the lens is in unchanged condition, the glasses exhibit haze which, however, can be removed by cleaning. The coating of the glasses has no visible limitations.
