Description
The second version of the Summicron-M 2.0/90mm was released around 1959/60 and was built until 1980.
The optical formular remained unchanged, but the lens barrel was heavily revised. Earlier models with an M-bayonet were still built on a screw-thread mount chassis and produced with an M-adapter glued at the factory.
The main difference to the first version is the integrated lens hood. In addition, the lenses of the 2nd version can be closed at aperture 22 and have a removable lens head.
There are two different types of knurling the aperture ring and the focusing ring. Early lenses have a heavy, bold knurling while later examples have evenly corrugated rings. The shape of the tripod connection has also been changed. Overall, there are a number of small changes in detail over the course of production.
Offered is a mint condition Summicron-M 2/90mm with bold knruling from the year 1963.
