Description

The Super-Angulon-R 3,4/21mm was introduced offcially in 1965 by Leica for the use with the Leicaflex. It was the first wide angle lens of this type for the Leica SLR system. The lens was based on an optical formular by Schneider-Kreuznach and due to the special design it was used on the Leicaflex with the swing up mirror locked and using a separate viewfinder. All models produced after the Leicaflex do not permit to lock the swing up mirror constantly (including the models Leicaflex SL and SL2) so that the Super-Angulon-R 3,4/21mm was only useable on the Leicaflex!

It seems that this lens was produced in a single batch (serial numbers 2056001 – 2057500) in 1964 with a total production of 1.500 pieces! The Super-Angulon-R 3,4/21mm was listed from 1965 up to 1968.

The offered Super-Angulon-R 3,4/21mm is one of the first manufactured lenses and comes with lens hood (Order No. 12511 E) and original Leitz UVa filter!
The technical and cosmetic condition is good to very good.

Total production: 1.500 units
