The boom in Leica M photography in recent years has resulted in a large number of companies producing lenses with Leica M bayonet mounts and in some cases developing systems with considerable performance data and producing them in series.
The best-known representatives include Carl Zeiss with the ZM lenses, Voigtländer with lenses with M bayonet and in front of that M39 Leica screw thread mount, Konica with M bayonet from the 1990s and, more recently, 7 Artisans and also TT Artisan.
The latter are not yet well known but that could possibly change in the future.
TT Artisan was founded in 2019 and currently manufactures four lenses with remarkable technical data. In general, the aim is to offer the highest initial openings for lenses in "classic" focal length ranges and the manufacturing quality is consistently very high.
The TT Artisan M 2.8/11mm Fisheye currently has the position of the exceptional and highly specialised lens among the four!
It is the first ever fisheye lens for the Leica M series and the extremely high initial aperture of 1:2.8 is associated with a very high level of design effort.
The lens consists of eleven lenses in seven groups, including four lenses with a high refractive index, and weighs just 436g despite the massive frame.
For all photographers who are looking for an extraordinary super wide-angle lens, the TT Artisan 11mm Fisheye is a welcome addition to the currently available lenses with M-bayonet.
When using a Leica M camera body, we highly recommend using a separate viewfinder!
The lens offered here is new.
