LEICA Elmarit-M 2,8/21mm ASPH. silver chrome 1st series
The silver chromed version of the Elmarit-M 2,8/21mm ASPH. first appeared in 1998 and the lens was listed in the Leica price lists until 2005.
A look at the serial number lists available to us leads to the conclusion that only a single production lot was produced with only 500 lenses!
Since 1997 the Elmarit-M 2,8/21mm ASPH. replaced the predecessor version built from 1980 and is in terms of optical performance superior to its predecessor by the use of aspheric lenses.
The performance increase can be seen even on analogue M cameras and the lens can also be used with outstanding results on modern digital M cameras.
The main field of application is in architecture and landscape photography, although it has been and still is used by some photographers as a reportage lens. Generally it can be said that the Elmarit-M 2,8/21 ASPH. achieved a very good imaging performance for this extreme focal length.
Offered is an extremely rare silver chrome Elmarit M 2,8/21 ASPH. (build in 1998). Cosmetical and technical in very good to mint condition, the lens comes incl. lens hood, leather case and UVa filter (B + W slim). In addition, the separately sold wide angle viewfinder for the focal lengths of 21mm, 24mm and 28mm in silver chrome version is also included.
Total production: at most 500 pieces!
