LEICA R3 Gold "Oskar Barnack" ltd. Edition
To commemorate the 100th birthday of Leica inventor and constructor Oskar Barnack in 1979 Leica produced limited edition models of the then current Leica R3 and Leica M4-2.
Both cameras were made with a 24 carat gold plated surface, the body was covered with black lizard skin leather and the both models were engraved with a facsimile of Oskar barnacks signature and the year 1879-1979. The lens delivered with both models was the Summilux 1,4/50mm which was partly gold plated.
Both models were delivered in a wooden mahogany presentation box including certificate of autheticity.
The Leica R3 Gold offered here is marked with limited editon number 100-832 and comes with matching Summilux-R 1,4/50mm no. 2931961 in the mahogany presentation box.
Unfortunately the certificate of authenticity and the original box is missing.
