LEITZ Super-Angulon-M39 4,0/21mm

The 1958 Super-Angulon-M39 4,0/21mm is based on an optical computation by Schneider-Kreuznach. The symmetrical construction of the lens promised a very good imaging performance for the time, and even today, a well-preserved lens provides high image quality.
Officially listed from 1958 to 1963 with screw mount connection it appears that the Super-Angulon was manufactured however only in the years 1958 and 1959 and afterwards from stock sold off. A comprehensible step, because it is a lens with a high purchase price and a very small application field.
Mainly, the Super-Angulon 21mm was used in advertising, architectural and technical phototography, and also promoted for this use by Leitz/Leica.

Offered is a Super-Angulon-M39 4.0/21mm from the year 1959 with the separately supplied lens hood.
The cosmetic and technical condition is very good to mint and it is particularly noteworthy that the original plastic container is also included. This is not the case with all offered Super-Angulon lenses.

Considering that only a total of 1,462 of the approximately 7,000 units were supplied with a screw mount connection, one should not miss the opportunity to purchase this very well-preserved lens.
