LEITZ Elmarit-M 2,8/28mm "Made in Canada"
The second optical computation of the Elmarit-M 2,8/28mm took place in 1969 and had the result that the lens got a significantly shallower rear element which does not protrude deeply in the camera body.
This was necessary to create space for the build in exposure meter of the Leica M5 camera body, which was delivered from Leitz/Leica in 1971. In general, it is assumed that the second version of the Elmarit-M 2.8/28mm should have a slightly increased optical performance.
Offered is an Elmarit-M 2,8/28mm in the second version from the year of 1969. The condition is good to very good in cosmetic terms and very good in technical terms. The lens will be delivered in original maker's box with matching numbers.
The lens comes from the second production lot and still has the classic lens barrel, which was quite equally found on the predecessor.
This particularity is usually not explicitly pointed out, but it seems that only 2,000 units of this version had been produced.
Total production: at most 2.000 units!
