LEICA M Cameras

LEICA M2 motor coupled with N.Y. motor

The Leica M2 Mot coupled is a predecessor of the Leica M2 M and was first shown in the price lists of Leitz New York in 1965.
The cameras had been equipped with an electronic coupling for the electric motor marketed by Leitz New York and had been developed with regard to the wishes of press photographers.
From 1966, Leitz Wetzlar built a very small series of 276 cameras with the model designation M2 M, which were technically almost identical to the already produced Leica M2 with motor coupling.

There are three different forms of motor coupling. The first motor drive units had only one mechanical interface, the transition version and the last version were additionally equipped with electrical contacts.
In general, Leica 2 Mot coupled models are provided for the first or transition version of the Leitz New York motor drive.

Offered is a silver chrome Leica M2 Mot coupled from the year 1960. The camera obviously belongs to the models which were converted on customer's request for use with the motor drive unit. It is delivered including a Leitz New York motor.
The combination is in full working condition and is technically and cosmetically in good condition.
